Thelma graduated from business college.

Spouse: Lorne Harris (February 12, 1926- August 6, 2007)

Married in June, 1949

Lorne was a graduate of the University of Manitoba and a Chartered Accountant, and became president and chairman of the board of a large heavy equipment distribution company. He was president of the Canadian Association of Equipment Distributors, and vice-president of the American Equipment Distributors. Lorne was a Shriner and a District Governor of Rotary International

Both Lorne and Thelma spent a great deal of time in volunteer activities. They were heavily involved with the building of low income housing for senior citizens sponsored by Rotary, delivering Meals on Wheels, putting on the Red Cross Blood Donor Clinic four times a year, and singing with the Peninsula Singers. Some of their other activities were golf, boating, reading, painting, tennis, and swimming.

  1. Thomas Edwin Harris (b. November 13, 1954; d. December 17, 1954).
  2. Susan Elizabeth Harris (b. May 29, 1955) (adopted).
  3. Judith Patricia Harris (b. January 3, 1957) (adopted).
  4. Robert Norman Harris (1963-2011) (adopted).
