Married August 19, 1959, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Barbara attended Provincial Normal College in Truro, taught for five years, then took a secretarial course and worked as a secretary at National Research of Canada in Halifax and Middleton Regional High School. Her hobbies were knitting, counted cross-stitch, and quilting.

Bush was in the Canadian Air Force, and they had assignmentents in Germany, Manitoba, and back to Nova Scotia. He was an avid sports fan, following the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He did a lot of skeet and trap shooting, and played golf.
