  1. Percy Watts Rule (b. 1888 in Napier, New Zealand; d. 1953).
  2. Cyril Rainsford Rule (b. ca. 1890; d. ca. 1955).
The family moved to Timaru, where Alexander was an artist and secretary of the Timaru Art Society. Hazel (Rule) Norris has several of his water colors.
