Bruce Frederick Jordan

Father: Frederick Edward Jordan

Mother: Joan Beverly Slater (1931-)

Born April 19, 1955.

Bruce grew up in Poughkeepsie, NewYork, where his father worked for IBM Corporation. He had fond memories of visits from Sylvia Mead from Montreal, Quebec. He also remembered the experience, at the age of eight, of having his mother's mother marry his father's father. He was saddened by his parent's divorce, after which he lived with his father.

After graduating from high school, he entered Oswego (New York) State University, graduating Cum Laude in 1977 in business administration, with minors in economics and math. After graduating, he lived with his father and worked at a bank, finance company, and manufacturing firm.

In 1980, he moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he was employed at a commercial bank for two years. He couldn't tolerate the heat and humidity, so he moved to southern California to be near his mother and her second husband, who lived in San Diego. He worked at Capital Records as a senior accountant in the Corporate Accounting Area. He later worked for Pacific Rim Assurance Company and several other companies as a senior accountant.

Some of his interests were playing the piano, ham radio, hiking, bicycling, and volunteer surveillance for the Los Angeles Police Department. His favorite activity was snow skiing.
