Edward Morgan was a tailor. He married Margaret (b. 1650 in Wales; d. 1731; daughter of John Jarmin and Margaret), in 1691, in Wales. Elizabeth was descended from Edward I, King of England. Another descendant of Edward I is Susie Skavdahl, listed in Bowyer-Skavdahl Genealogy by L. Ray Bowyer, published April 15, 1999. Ralph and Susie are 21st cousins once removed.
Edward and Elizabeth were Quakers who emigrated to Gwynedd-Horsham in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania (near Philadelphia), arriving September 20, 1683, on the ship Morning Star, and bringing several of their children. They emigrated to escape religious persecution. Their home is a Pennsylvania Historic Site, near Lansdale, Pennsylvania. The land on which the home is located was purchased from Griffith Jones on February 26, 1708. Griffith Jones had purchased it from William Penn.
