Elizabeth was the daughter of John Goodrich and Elizabeth Edwards..

Daniel was three years old when his family immigrated from Ipswich, England to Connecticut on the ship Francis.

The family settled in Wethersfield, where Daniel lived and died. There are many Connecticut records in which he bought and sold land around Wethersfield and Branford, CT.

He was a freeman in 1665, a fence viewer, and a pound-keeper. In 1696 he sold some land which he had inherited from his father-in-law, John Goodrich, at the time of his death.

In 1771 he deeded much of his property to his sons and sons-in-law. It is assumed that he died shortly thereafter, although there is no date of his death recorded.

  1. ELIZABETH4 ROSE, b. 15 Apr 1665, Wethersfield, Hartford, CT; d. Bef. 06 Nov 1732; m. JOHN CUNNINGHAM. Notes for ELIZABETH ROSE: There is some question about the history of Elizabeth Rose. Her family lived next door to a family named Robbins, who had a son Capt. Joshua Robbins. He married an Elizabeth last name unknown on 24 Dec 1680 and the age of that Elizabeth according to her cemetery record was about the age of Elizabeth Rose. Also, the Robbins's children were given names the same as the names of Elizabeth Rose's brothers and sisters. However, the most widely held belief is that our Elizabeth Rose was the Elizabeth Roos who married Obadiah Coolidge. This is believed because it is certain that Obadiah's wife was a Rose or a Roos before marriage, and it is certain that Obadiah's wife was related to the Goodrich family in Sudbury, which is where Elizabeth's mother,who was a Goodrich, had many family members. There was no other known Elizabeth Rose in Wethersfield, Watertown, or Sudbury at that time. Therefore I am recording her as the wife of Obadiah Coolidge

MARY FOOTE, 14 May 1706, Wethersfield, Hartford, CT; b. 24 Nov 1679, Wethersfield, Hartford, CT; d. Unknown, unk. Notes for DANIEL ROSE: Daniel Rose was listed as a Hayward in 1695. His father gave him 12 acres out of the Sherwood homestead on the south side of the present Pratt's Ferry Road, 1707 at Wethersfield. He moved to Coventry, Tolland, CT sometime between 1726 and 1729. There are many records of his buying and selling property.

  5. JOHN ROSE, b. 10 Jun 1675, Wethersfield, Hartford, CT; d. 05 Jun 1751, Wethersfield, Hartford, CT; m. SARAH BUCK, 08 Jul 1697, Wethersfield, Hartford, CT; b. 25 Jul 1678, Wethersfield, Hartford, CT; d. 31 May 1763, Wethersfield, Hartford, CT. Notes for JOHN ROSE: There are several records of John Rose in early Connecticut public records. He was in Watertown in 1636 and in Branford in 1649, as a juror. He was still there in 1667. In 1775 his son was involved in an accidental death while he and some friends were shooting on his father's farm. A neighbor was killed. He is mentioned in several deed and land records in Wethersfield as he and his sons deeded lands to each other and to and from others, not only in Wethersfield, but in Guilford and Killingham, CT. He was known as Sargt. John Rose. When he died, he and his wife were buried in the Wethersfield, CT. Congregational Church Cemetery, near the large Rose family monument. Their tombstones are still well preserved, however, the age on John does not match with his vital record listing.

The last three daughters of Daniel and Elizabeth are not listed in the Robert Rose book, but are listed by Savage in his History of New England Families. Therefore it is possible that they are listed in error.
